This notice explains what personal data the afromium.com website collects, why, and what your rights are. It covers this website only. Mobile apps published by Afromium Digital Solutions have their own privacy policies, linked from inside each app.

What we collect and why
Server logs
Like every website, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, the time, and the referring site. This is used for security and to keep the site running. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website. Logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and how the site is used, so we can improve it. Where the law requires it, analytics cookies are only set after you give consent through the cookie banner, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. IP addresses are truncated. Legal basis: your consent.
Cookies
The site uses strictly necessary cookies (for example, to remember your cookie choice) and, with your consent, analytics and advertising cookies. The cookie banner lets you accept or reject the non-essential ones and change your mind later.
Advertising
Some pages carry advertising served by third-party networks such as Google AdSense. With your consent these networks may use cookies to show ads relevant to you; without it, ads are shown without personalisation. You can manage this through the cookie banner and through Google’s ad settings.
Affiliate links
When you click a link to a money-transfer provider or bank, you leave our site. The provider may set its own cookies to record that you came from Afromium, so that we can earn a commission if you sign up. We do not send the provider any personal data about you. What happens after you arrive on their site is governed by their privacy policy, not ours.
Calculators and tools
Our calculators run in your browser. The amounts you type are not sent to our servers or stored.
If you email us, we keep the message for as long as needed to reply and, where relevant, to correct a page. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to you.
Who we share data with
- Hosting. The site is hosted by Bluehost (Newfold Digital), whose servers are in the United States. Transfers of personal data outside the EU are covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
- Google (analytics and advertising), only to the extent you have consented.
- Nobody else. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with affiliate providers.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that happened before. To exercise any of these, email us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi) or the supervisory authority in your own country.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
If we change this notice, the new version is published here with a new effective date.
