To receive money from abroad in JazzCash, give the sender the mobile number registered to your JazzCash account and your name exactly as it is registered. Ask them to choose JazzCash (mobile wallet) as the way the money is received. You do not always need a special account. JazzCash says any verified account holder can receive money from international remittance partners, within the limits of their account level.
Before the sender pays, check your account level and how much of this month’s limit you have left. A transfer can be accepted at the sender’s end and still hit your JazzCash limit.
The short answer
- Your existing verified wallet is fine if the amount fits within its limits and the sender’s service pays into JazzCash.
- The Asaan Digital Remittance Account is JazzCash’s account level for receiving family money from abroad. Upgrade to it if you receive remittances regularly, or your current limit is too low. It lists a daily credit limit of PKR 1,000,000 and a monthly one of PKR 3,000,000.
- The Freelance Digital Account is the one to look at if the money is payment for your work rather than family support.
- If you will withdraw most of the money as cash straight away, count the cash-out fee before choosing JazzCash over a bank deposit or cash pickup.
Basic wallet or Asaan Digital Remittance Account?
The names make this sound harder than it is. The Asaan Digital Remittance Account is not a separate transfer service. It is a JazzCash account level built for receiving home remittances. These are the limits JazzCash published on its international remittance page when we checked, in PKR:
| Level 1 / Basic | Asaan Digital Remittance Account | |
|---|---|---|
| Daily credit (money in) | 100,000 | 1,000,000 |
| Daily debit (money out) | 100,000 | 1,000,000 |
| Monthly credit | 300,000 | 3,000,000 |
| Monthly debit | 300,000 | 3,000,000 |
| Yearly credit and debit | 300,000 | 36,000,000 |
| Maximum balance | 3,000,000 | 3,000,000 |
The monthly credit limit matters most. Someone receiving PKR 50,000 from a relative may have no reason to change account. Someone expecting PKR 500,000 cannot receive it into a Basic wallet, because its published monthly credit limit is PKR 300,000.
Note the yearly figure too. As published, a Basic wallet’s yearly limit is the same PKR 300,000 as its monthly one. If you expect more than that over a year, check the limit shown in your app, or upgrade.
Remittance account or Freelance Digital Account?
Both involve money from abroad, so they are easy to confuse. JazzCash describes the Freelance Digital Account as a way for professionals to “receive international payments from global platforms”. It describes the Asaan Digital Remittance Account as a way to receive money “sent by loved ones abroad”.
If your brother in Dubai sends money for household costs, that is a remittance. If a client in Germany pays you for design or software work, look at the freelance account instead. Choose the account that matches why the money is arriving, not the one with the biggest number in a table.
How to upgrade
JazzCash handles upgrades in its app. In the upgrade section, you choose the Asaan Digital Remittance Account, which JazzCash lists with “a Rs. 3,000,000 Account Limit”. Its schedule of charges for July to September 2026 lists the upgrade fee as zero. Screens and verification steps change, so follow what the app asks for today rather than an old screenshot or video.
What to give the sender
The key detail is the mobile number registered to your JazzCash wallet. Services ask for slightly different things. WorldRemit, for example, asks for:
- your full name, matching the name registered on the wallet;
- your city;
- the wallet number, 10 digits without the country code;
- a contact number, which can be different;
- a reason for sending, such as family support.
WorldRemit warns that if the name does not match the wallet, the transfer can take up to a working day. It also only pays into wallets that are “fully registered” and “active”. The sender must pick JazzCash or mobile wallet as the payout method, not bank deposit or cash pickup.
Never give anyone your JazzCash MPIN or a one-time code. Nobody needs them to send money to you. Some sending services ask for extra recipient details for compliance. If so, the sender enters them in that service’s own app or website. Do not send ID photos, PINs or codes over WhatsApp because someone says they are needed to “release” a remittance.
Which services can send to JazzCash?
JazzCash tells senders to use an exchange house or a partner app, select Pakistan and choose JazzCash. We did not find a complete public list of partners on its site. These services had current pages confirming JazzCash payout when we checked:
| Service | What its page says |
|---|---|
| Remitly | A JazzCash page for sending from the UK: PKR, “Disbursement Method: Mobile wallet” |
| Taptap Send | Sends to “any Jazz Cash and Easypaisa account”, from the UK, EU, US, Canada, Australia or UAE |
| WorldRemit | Pays into “Easypaisa and JazzCash mobile money accounts” |
| Ria | Lists JazzCash among the Pakistani wallets it works with |
This is a list of what we could confirm, not a full list of JazzCash partners. Availability depends on the sender’s country, so the sender should check that their service shows JazzCash from where they live.
The sender’s limit and your limit are separate
Your Asaan Digital Remittance Account may accept PKR 1,000,000 a day, but the sending service can set a much lower limit. WorldRemit allows at most PKR 50,000 per transfer and PKR 80,000 per 30 days into Pakistani mobile wallets, and says limits may be lower depending on where and how the sender pays. Taptap Send says its wallet limit depends on whether the recipient’s wallet is verified.
So the amount you can actually receive is whichever limit is lowest: the sender’s service, your wallet’s remaining limit, or any extra checks. If your wallet can take PKR 1,000,000 but the service allows PKR 50,000, the answer is PKR 50,000. If the service allows PKR 500,000 but your wallet has PKR 150,000 of monthly limit left, your wallet is the problem. Check both.
Count what you have already received this month
The limits cover all money coming in, not just remittances. Suppose your Basic wallet has a PKR 300,000 monthly credit limit. This month you have already received PKR 80,000 from another JazzCash user, PKR 50,000 from a bank and PKR 20,000 from somewhere else. That is PKR 150,000 used. If a relative now sends PKR 200,000 from abroad, it is below the PKR 300,000 limit, but more than the PKR 150,000 you have left. Look at your usage in the app, not the published maximum.
How quickly it arrives
JazzCash says remittances are “typically credited instantly once the transaction is completed”. It also says some transactions “may go through AML screening”, the anti-money-laundering check, “which can take up to 2 days”. The sending service can add its own delay before JazzCash receives anything. So “payment accepted” on the sender’s screen does not always mean the money is in your wallet yet.
Receiving is one cost; cash-out is another
Money arriving in your wallet does not mean you can withdraw it as cash for free. JazzCash’s schedule for 1 July to 30 September 2026 lists these charges for cashing out from a wallet at a retailer, including tax:
| Amount withdrawn (PKR) | Retailer cash-out fee (PKR) |
|---|---|
| 1 – 200 | 7 |
| 201 – 500 | 12 |
| 501 – 1,000 | 20 |
| 1,001 – 2,500 | 40 |
| 2,501 – 4,000 | 70 |
| 4,001 – 6,000 | 100 |
| 6,001 – 8,000 | 130 |
| 8,001 – 10,000 | 180 |
| 10,001 – 13,000 | 230 |
| 13,001 – 16,000 | 280 |
| 16,001 – 20,000 | 330 |
| 20,001 – 25,000 | 380 |
| 25,001 – 30,000 | 470 |
| 30,001 – 40,000 | 560 |
| 40,001 – 50,000 | 690 |
The same schedule lists PKR 35, including tax, for cash out from an ATM. JazzCash says it “reserves the right to charge lower or up to the fee mentioned”. The schedule expired on 30 September 2026. The October schedule had not been published when we checked, so look at JazzCash’s current schedule of charges before relying on these numbers.
PKR 50,000 in the wallet is not PKR 50,000 in your hand
Suppose exactly PKR 50,000 arrives and you withdraw all of it at a retailer. Under the July–September schedule, the fee is PKR 690, leaving PKR 49,310. That PKR 690 is easy to forget when the sender compares JazzCash with other payout methods. A bank deposit or cash pickup with a slightly worse rate could leave you with more cash if you would empty the wallet straight away.
Do you need to withdraw all of it?
This is where JazzCash can beat cash pickup. Money in the wallet can pay bills, go to other accounts or be spent digitally without being withdrawn. Suppose PKR 60,000 arrives and this month you need:
- PKR 12,000 for utility bills;
- PKR 5,000 for mobile and internet;
- PKR 18,000 to transfer to another account;
- PKR 25,000 in cash.
Withdraw only the PKR 25,000 you need as cash. At a retailer, that costs PKR 380 under the July–September schedule, instead of paying to withdraw all PKR 60,000 and then pay bills from it. Some wallet payments carry their own small charges; the schedule lists them.
ATM withdrawals can be cheaper
JazzCash says customers get “up to 2 free ATM withdrawals per month” with the JazzCash ATM card, “valid only in the same month as remittance”. After that, the listed ATM charge is PKR 35. Free withdrawals apply only at ATMs, not at retailers.
You need a JazzCash debit card for this. The same schedule lists PKR 999 to issue a physical card, plus an annual fee, excluding tax. Your card, account level and the ATM may also limit how much you can take out at once. Check those before planning a large cash withdrawal around the free ones.
If the transfer is bigger than your limit
Do not ask the sender to break a large payment into small ones to get around account, verification or regulatory limits. First check your account level. If the money is legitimate and your limit is too low, upgrading is the clean fix.
For a large amount, also compare a direct bank deposit. A bank account may suit better if you do not need the money in JazzCash. What bank details you need covers Pakistan’s 24-character IBAN.
If the money does not arrive
Start with the sending service. Get the transfer reference, and check whether it says processing, completed, rejected or returned. Then confirm the details used: the registered JazzCash number, your full name, the amount and the date. Remember that AML screening can take up to two days.
If the service says the money was delivered but your balance has not changed, contact JazzCash with the transfer details. JazzCash lists these helplines:
- 4444 from a Jazz number;
- 111-124-444, its UAN;
- 0325-4444-786 on WhatsApp.
Do not have the sender send the same money again while the first transfer is unresolved. If both arrive, you have created a second problem.
JazzCash or cash pickup?
JazzCash makes more sense if you already use the wallet and will spend part of the money digitally. Cash pickup can be better if you need nearly all of it as cash and a pickup point is close. A hypothetical example where the recipient needs all of it as cash:
| JazzCash wallet | Cash pickup | |
|---|---|---|
| Amount delivered | PKR 100,000 | PKR 98,800 |
| Cost to get it as cash | PKR 1,380 (two PKR 50,000 retailer withdrawals) | PKR 0 |
| Cash in hand | PKR 98,620 | PKR 98,800 |
At a retailer, cash pickup wins by PKR 180. If the wallet money comes out through two free ATM withdrawals instead, the wallet wins by PKR 1,200, provided your card and the ATM allow withdrawals of that size. And if you would spend half of it digitally anyway, the wallet wins more clearly. You cannot choose from the first row alone. See cash pickup or mobile wallet for the general comparison.
JazzCash or bank deposit?
If you have both a Pakistani bank account and JazzCash, think about what happens after the money arrives. JazzCash suits smaller household remittances that you will spend from the wallet. A bank deposit may suit larger amounts, savings, payments that need a bank record, or anyone who would otherwise withdraw most of the wallet balance.
The sender should quote both on the same budget and compare what you end up with. That means the amount delivered in PKR, minus what it costs you to use it. Bank transfer or money transfer app shows how to set up that comparison.
Two checks before every JazzCash remittance
- Open JazzCash and check your account level and remaining limit before you send your number to the sender.
- Ask the sender to confirm that their service shows JazzCash mobile wallet as the destination.
Those two checks prevent the two easiest mistakes: a wallet that cannot accept the amount, and a transfer that was never going to JazzCash at all. For occasional small amounts, your existing verified wallet may be enough. For regular family money, the Asaan Digital Remittance Account is the account JazzCash built for it. For what cashing out costs on other wallets, see what it costs to cash out GCash, bKash and easypaisa.
How we checked this
We read these sources on 30 September 2026:
- JazzCash’s international remittance page: the limits table, the note that verified account holders can receive from international remittance partners, the instant credit and AML screening, the free ATM withdrawals, how senders choose JazzCash, and the helpline numbers.
- JazzCash’s account pages: the Asaan Digital Remittance Account, the Freelance Digital Account and the upgrade steps.
- Mobilink Microfinance Bank’s JazzCash schedule of charges for 1 July to 30 September 2026: the upgrade fee, the retailer and ATM cash-out charges, and the card fees. It is the only schedule JazzCash linked when we checked.
- The senders’ pages: Remitly’s JazzCash page for the UK, Taptap Send’s and Ria’s Pakistan pages, and WorldRemit’s Pakistan mobile-money page, for payout support, recipient details and limits.
The cash pickup and monthly-usage examples are hypothetical.
